Best of Vietnam & Laos (13 Days)

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival (Vietnam)

Upon arrival, our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L)

Depart to Cu Chi Tunnels which are a maze of underground passages used by the Vietnamese communists during the Vietnam War as protection against the American air raids. After lunch, visit to the War Remnants museum–it exhibited the old military equipment from Vietnam War. Continue to visit the Reunification palace, formerly the Presidential palace that was the sight of South Vietnam’s surrender in April 1975. Walk down to see Notre Dame Cathedral and General Post Office then finish at Ben Thanh market.

Day 3: Mekong Delta (B, L)

Transfer to Mekong Delta then take a boat trip to discover Cai Be floating market. Continue with a visit to a village where you can see how the locals make rice paper, coconut candy, pop rice and enjoy Vietnamese traditional music then take a small sampan to feel the real Mekong river. After lunch, visit to a local brick kiln before taking another boat to Vinh Long, the center of tropical fruits and stopping for a short visit at local market then transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Flight to Da Nang – Hoian (B)

Transfer to the airport for a flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, transfer to Hoian for enjoy a walking tour to visit ancient town. You then continue with a visit to the home of a craftsman where you will discover the daily life of local people and observe how they make a lantern. Overnight at hotel in Hoian.

Day 5: Hoian – Hue (B) 

In the morning, take free time to explore more the ancient town or relax on Cua Dai beach until transfer by car over the most spectacular Hai Van Pass to Hue. En route, visit the Marble Mountain, Cham Museum and the Stone Village. Upon arrival, check-in and overnight at hotel in Hue.

Day 6: Hue – Flight to Hanoi (B, L)

Enjoy a full day tour in the former imperial capital of Hue. A boat trip on Perfume river to visit Thien Mu pagoda then visit to the Imperial Citadel. After lunch, visit the elaborate tombs of King Khai Dinh & King Tu Duc. In the evening, transfer to airport for a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival, pick up to hotel for check-in.

Day 7: Hanoi (B, L)

Transfer to Ho Chi Minh Complex area to learn about of his life during revolutionary period then visit to the One Pillar pagoda. After that, going to visit the Ethnology museum where you can learn and see the various life aspects of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch, going to visit the Literature temple, well known as Vietnam’s first university. You tour in Hanoi will continues with a cyclo tour around the Old Quarter & Hoan Kiem lake then watch the traditional water puppet show.

Day 8: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D) 

Depart for Halong Bay. Upon arrival, embark on a cruise and start cruising around the bay to see the amazing karts with different formations and then stop for a walk through the Amazing cave. There will be plenty of time for kayaking, swimming and sunbathing after the cruise anchors at a clean calm sea. Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner and overnight on the cruise.

Day 9: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L) 

Enjoy breakfast while cruising on the bay before stopover at the pearl farm to see the actual cultured pearl of fishermen. Back to cruise for check-out while the cruise will take you further to discover the hidden beauty of the bay. Cooking class is opened for everyone who are interested in Vietnamese food. Cruises back to the harbor then transfer back to your hotel in Hanoi.

Day 10: Hanoi – Flight to Luang Prabang (B) (Laos)

Free at leisure until transfer to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, pick up to hotel for check in.

Day 11: Luang Prabang & Pak Ou Caves (B, L)

Participate the daily early morning alms giving to saffron-clad monks.(Optional)

Transfer to visit the city’s temples including Wat Sene & Wat Xieng Thong then take boat trip to visit Pak Ou Caves. On the way, you will also enjoy a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. In the afternoon, you will visit to few villages including Ban Xan Hai where the local rice wine is produced and other villages. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Luang Prabang & Kuang Si Waterfall & Elephant Riding (B, L)

Transfer to visit the stupa of Wat Visoun, Wat Aham & Wat Mai and Phosi market. Next, enjoy a Asian elephants tour and venture on a 35 mins journey through forests, plantations & fields then visit to some ethnic minority villages. Afterward, transfer to visit Kuang Si waterfalls then climb up to the top of Phousi mount for the beautiful view of the city & river at sunset. 

Day 13: Luang Prabang – Departure (B) 

Visit to the National museum at the former Royal Palace which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. You will also see the Central market transfer to the airport for your own departure flight.
