Best of Indochina (17 Days)

Destinations: Vietnam (Hanoi – Halong Bay – Hue – Hoian – Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Mekong Delta) – Cambodia (Phnom Penh – Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake) – Laos (Luang Prabang)

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (Vietnam)

Upon arrival, our representative will greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure. 

Day 2: Hanoi (B, L) 

Take full day city tour to visit Ho Chi Minh Complex area and One Pillar pagoda. After that, going to visit the Temple of Literature, the first university of Vietnam and the Museum of Ethnology where you can learn different life aspects of 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch, enjoy a cyclo tour to visit the Old Quarter & Hoan Kiem lake then watch the traditional water puppet show.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B, L, D)

Leave Hanoi for Halong Bay. Enjoying the journey through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta and the scenery of rice fields. Upon arrival, board a overnight cruise to discover the legendary Halong Bay. Enjoy full board meals and many indoor & outdoor activities. Overnight on the cruise. 

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Hue (B, L)

Join a Tai Chi session then enjoy an international breakfast while the cruise cruises among hundreds of islets before coming back to the pier. Drive back to the airport for a flight to Hue. Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to hotel. 

Day 5: Hue (B, L)

Enjoy a boat trip on the Perfume river to visit Thien Mu pagoda, the oldest pagoda in Hue city then discover the Imperial Citadel & Forbidden Purple City where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 – 1945. After lunch, continue to visit the elaborate tombs of emperors Tu Duc & Khai Dinh where you will learn about Royal’s life and their architecture.

Day 6: Hue – Hoian (B)

Transfer by car over the most spectacular Hai Van Pass to Hoian. En route, visit the Marble Mountain, Cham Museum and the Stone Village. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour to visit ancient town then visit to a home of craftsman where you will discover the daily life of local people and observe how they make a lantern.

Day 7: Hoian – Da Nang – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Take free day to explore more the ancient town or relax on Cua Dai beach until transfer to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. 

Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City & Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L) 

Driver to Cu Chi district to visit the amazing complex of underground tunnels at Cu Chi. After lunch, transfer back to the city to visit the main sights including the Opera House, Town Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace, War Remnants museum and Ben Thanh market. 

Day 9: Mekong Delta (B, L)

Transfer to Mekong Delta then take a boat trip to discover Caibe floating market. Visit to a village for watching process of making local products, observing daily activities, enjoy Vietnamese traditional music then take a small sampan rowing by hand of local to feel the real Mekong river. After lunch, take another boat to visit Vinh Long, the center of tropical fruits.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City – Phnom Penh (B) (Cambodia)

After breakfast, transfer to bus station for an express bus to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check in. Free at leisure. 

Day 11: Phnom Penh – Flight to Siem Reap (B, L) 

Transfer to visit the main sights including Royal palace, Silver pagoda, Friendship & Independence monuments, National museum and Wat Phnom. After lunch, going to visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide museum and the Killing Fields. In the evening, take a flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, pick up to hotel for check-in.

Day 12: Angkor Thom & Angkor Wat (B, L, D)

Transfer to visit Angkor Thom including Elephant terrace, Leper King terrace, Baphuon, Royal enclosure, Phimeanakas, Bayon temple and Ta Prohm temple. After lunch, visit the Angkor Wat where is one of the 7 wonders of the world. In the evening, enjoy a dinner in front of a traditional dancing show at the Apsara Theatre.

Day 13: Banteay Srey & Big Circuit (B, L)

You will enjoy the sunrise at Angkor Wat (Optional) and spend the whole morning to explore the greatest fine-art of Angkor Empire at Banteay-Srey temple. After lunch, visit the Grand Circuit of temples: Preah Khan, Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang, Neak Poan and Ta Som. Late afternoon, you will enjoy sunset at Pre Rup temple. 

Day 14: Tonle Sap Lake – Flight to Luang Prabang (B) (Laos)

Enjoy a boat trip on the Tonle Sap lake. This is a great opportunity to learn about the life of the locals in this village then get back to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, pick up to hotel for check-in.

Day 15: Luang Prabang & Pak Ou Caves (B, L)

Transfer to visit the city’s temples including Wat Sene & Wat Xieng Thong then take boat trip to visit Pak Ou Caves. On the way, you will also enjoy a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. In the afternoon, you will visit to few villages including Ban Xan Hai where the local rice wine is produced and other villages. 

Day 16: Luang Prabang & Kuang Si Waterfall & Elephant Riding (B, L)

Transfer to visit the stupa of Wat Visoun, Wat Aham & Wat Mai and Phosi market. Next, enjoy a Asian elephants tour and venture on a 35 mins journey through forests, plantations & fields then visit to some ethnic minority villages. Afterward, transfer to visit the Kuang Si waterfalls then climb up to the top of Phousi mount for the beautiful view of the city & river at sunset. 

Day 17: Luang Prabang Departure (B) 

Visit to the National museum at the former Royal Palace which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. You will also see the Central market transfer to the airport for your own departure flight.
